Workshops & Events
The Jordan Institute offers regular educational programs for professionals in the building industry and for those who simply want to learn more about the emerging green building field. Recent topics include:
Introduction to High Performance Buildings
- Energy Modeling
- High Performance Homes
- Introduction to LEED for New Construction
- Introduction to LEED for Commercial Interiors
Many of those who take our introductory LEED courses go on to take – and pass – the rigorous LEED Accredited Professional (LEED AP) exam.

We also develop presentations and green building training courses for individual companies and trade associations such as state chapters of the American Institute of Architects and the Associated Builders and Contractors.
“The Jordan Institute did a great job working with us to tailor a seminar to our specific needs. The presentation was content rich and delivered in a very professional manner.”
-Mark McGinnis, Associated Builders and Contractors NH/VT Chapter
Our training programs are based on practical experience and aim to engage participants through discussion, questions, and, for multi-day trainings, “homework.” We believe learning occurs best when people are personally involved and aim to create this environment at every event.
“I enjoyed the back-and-forth ‘shop talk’ between the seminar participants.”
“Very informative! I liked the interactive part of all three sessions.”
-Seminar participants, June 2008
Typically Jordan Institute staff members lead our workshops, though we bring outside experts to present on particular topics as appropriate. This further enriches our green building workshops and advances our goal of providing participants with the most up-to-date, real-world information possible.
Please check our schedule regularly for updates on our current offerings. For information on how to schedule a presentation for your company, contact Theresa Spear.
